Dear Potential Donor,
"With every instance of violence, we are reminded of how much damage hate, ignorance and lack of respect cause...and together, we must quest for peace"
Peace Quest, a non profit organization, seeks to bring people together regardless of race, creed, color economic status or gender. We strive to foster understanding that all people are important, all people have problems and the only way to the beauty of the human spirit is through communication.
For the past 10 years, Peace Quest has been presenting an annual community day in efforts of further bridging communication in the city of Los Angeles. The 10th Annual Peace Day like in past years, will work to educate all people young and old, black, white and brown, rich and poor on how to live together in peace. With the recent occurrences of violence on Los Angeles streets and freeways, as well as the racial tension on local high school campuses this year, the 10th Annual Peace Day is more important than ever. Last year over 2000 people were in attendance, including children who were bussed in from different elementary, junior and senior high schools and group homes. This year there will be celebrities, food, games, scholarships awarded, a poetry jam, basketball game and a fashion show. The entire day is FREE!!!
Peace Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2005, from 10:00AM to 5:00PM at 32nd Street/USC Vision and Performing Arts Magnet School. With your help, Peace Day 2005 will be bigger than ever.
We are asking local businesses, corporations and community members for in-kind donations, CD's, t-shirts, stickers, toys, drinks, candy...ANYTHING that we may be able to give away during the day!!! Last year 103 The Beat, KIIS FM, POWER 106, the Cheesecake Factory, Showtime, Warner Brothers, Circuit City, Pepsi, Ralphs and Coke were among those that supported our efforts.
In an effort to make this year an even greater success, we would greatly appreciate any added or continued support for this our 10TH ANNUAL PEACE DAY! Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in participating or would like more information about Peace Quest. You may contact me directly at 310-384-5683 or 310-474-5806.Thank you for your time and consideration.
