BALLIN is Los Angeles’ only weekly one-hour show dedicated to the world of street basketball, airing on a new network known as Local Television Network.
BALLIN is a reality-style street ball show.
Players who advance will win money; those who don’t will get gifts.
The winning regional team from each Semifinal game will advance to the Finals. These final two regional teams will play for the BALLIN Streetball Championship of Los Angeles, earning bragging rights for the claim of being the best in L.A. streetball.
Besides providing spectacular game action, BALLIN also showcases its players off the court. We are profiling young black men who are artists, musicians, coaches, activists, and others making a positive contribution to the community. These men and women will not be shown as one dimensional players, but as people who have interests and abilities as eclectic as the neighborhoods they live in. In doing so, we plan to eliminate the racial stereotypes seen on other streetball shows. Finally, BALLIN’ will cover the culture and interests of streetballers: music, fashion, video gaming and entertainment.
With its launch on October 3, 2005, LTN reaches over four million homes across Southern California. The network airs on KVMD while taking advantage of a federal “must carry” clause that requires cable/satellite providers to show a certain amount of local programming every day. LTN will be carried on cable providers such as Adelphia, Time Warner, Cox, Charter and Verizon as well as DirectTV and the Dish Network.
